“92 million and 300 thousand tons out of the total trade conducted during the mentioned period, worthening 35 billion and one hundred million dollars, are allocated to exports, comparing to the same period of last year, it indicates an increase of 8% in weight and 40% in value; this is more than the total exports conducted during Mar 20 2020 to Mar 20 2021. So, we expect this amount to reach $ 47 billion by the end of the year, while maintaining the export trend” Moghaddasi added.

He explained: “The growth of non-oil exports in the face of sanctions and the existence of economic restrictions is the result of the efforts of all stakeholders in the field of foreign trade, especially economic actors;” Therefore, it is expected that we will see an improvement in the business situation in the near future by resolving the existing problems and bottlenecks.”

“Petrochemical products with 42 million and 400 thousand tons, with worth of 14 billion and 700 million dollars, are the most important exports of Iran in the first nine months of this year, accounting for 46% of the weight and 42% of the total value of exports; so it experienced a growth of 40% over the same period last year” he continued.

“China with 21 million and 300 thousand tons of goods, worth 10 billion and 200 million dollars, was the first trading partner of Iran followed by Iraq, with 23 million and 500 thousand tons of goods, with worth of 6 billion and 800 million dollars, Turkey with 11 million and 700 thousand tons, worth 4 billion and one hundred million dollars, UAE with 8 million and 300 thousand tons, worth 3 billion and 400 million dollars and Afghanistan with 3 1.3 million people, with worth of $ 1.4 billion, respectively” regarding the main export destinations of Iranian goods, he added.

Regarding the import statistics of goods in the first 9 months of this year, the head of Iran’s customs said: “During this period, 30 million and one hundred thousand tons of goods worth $ 37 billion were imported into the country, which has grown 20% by weight and 37% by value comparing to the same period last year.”

“The United Arab Emirates with 8 million and 900 thousand tons of goods worth 11 billion and 500 million dollars, China with 2 million and 500 thousand tons worth 8 billion and 400 million dollars, Turkey with 2 million and 900 thousand tons Worth $ 3.7 billion, Germany with 593,000 tons worth $ 1.4 billion and Switzerland with 1.6 million tons worth $ 1.3 billion, were among top five countries importing the goods from Iran” he added.

Moghaddasi reminded: “Of the total goods imported to the country in the above-mentioned period, 23 million and one hundred thousand tons, worth 12 billion and 400 million dollars, are among basic goods growing up to 32% in weight and 61% in value.”

Referring to the 76% growth in the transit of foreign goods from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the head of Iran’s customs said: “In the first 9 months of this year, 9 million 158 thousand tons of goods have been transited through our country, which is expected to reach 12 million and 400 thousand tons of goods passing through the country.
